If you fall into any of the categories below you should receive an annual flu vaccination. Please contact our reception staff now to arrange an appointment if you fall into one of the following categories:
- aged 65 years or over
- a carer
- children aged 2-3 (given as a nasal spray). School children from reception class through to year 4 will get their nasal spray through school.
- suffer from a long term condition
If you have not already received a pneumonia vaccination and are over the age of 65 or in one of the “at risk” groups mentioned above, it is advised that you are offered a pneumonia vaccination as well.
Please note the flu vaccination cannot cause flu as it does not contain any “live” virus. It may be tender near the injection site and less often cause a slight temperature and aching muscles for a couple of days.
