Covid Vaccination and NHS Covid Pass Scams

Please be aware of the various scams that are circulating in response to the Covid-19 Vaccination Programme. There have been reports of scam recorded phone messages asking you to press a number or to click on a link in an email to make an appointment.  There are also hoax calls offering for someone to attend your home for a fee. Appointments are not being made in this way. The vaccine is currently only available on the NHS and is FREE. The NHS will not ask for payment.

Please also be aware of fraudulent text messages claiming to be from the NHS regarding applying for an NHS Covid-19 Pass and fines if you don’t apply. The NHS App and the NHS Covid Pass are both free. Please do not click on any links in a text or e-mail.

  • If you receive a phone call and suspect it to be fraudulent, hang up
  • If you are suspicious about an email please forward it to report@phishing.gov.uk
  • If you are suspicious about a text message please forward it to 7726, which is free of charge
  • If you believe you are the victim of a fraud please report this to Action Fraud by visiting actionfraud.police.uk or call 0300 123 2040.
