Practice Charter

This practice does not discriminate on the grounds of:

  1. a) race, gender, social class, age, religion, sexual orientation or appearance
  2. b) disability or medical condition

GP Responsibilities:

  • You will be treated with respect and courtesy and all your details pertaining to your  medical care will be treated confidentially.
  • It is our aim that you will be able to see a doctor of your choice within three working days.
  • If you have an urgent problem you will be able to see a doctor on the same day.  It may not be a doctor of your choice.
  • We will endeavour to see you promptly at your appointment time, however, some patients may present with complex problems, which may result in delays, or doctors may be called out to emergencies.  If this happens we will keep you informed of the delay.
  • If a surgery has to be cancelled we will inform you as soon as possible and offer you an alternative appointment.
  • We will visit you at home if you are too ill or infirm to attend the surgery.

Patient Responsibilities:

  • We ask that you treat the doctors and all the staff with the same respect and courtesy that you receive.
  • Please try to be punctual for your appointment and if we are running late please be patient.
  • If you are unable to keep your appointment please let us know as soon as possible so that the appointment can be offered to another patient.
  • Please do not ask for home visits unless it is absolutely necessary and please ring for a home visit before 10.00 am.
  • Please inform the receptionists of any change in your circumstances e.g change of name, address, telephone number etc.

Violent Abusive Behaviour:

The practice does not tolerate violent or abusive behaviour to its Doctors, staff or other persons present at the surgery. Such behaviour may result in the patient being removed from the practice list of patients. The Practice’s policy relating to such behaviour is available on demand from the practice.
